asiafun
Any thoughts on taking a side trip to cambodia to view the Angkor Wat? Visa issues? reliable transportation? Should I stay the night before heading back? Duration of ride from say Pattaya?
pattaya127
From Pattaya, about 6-7 hours, along with the visa run rides. The visa can be done for you as you get to Aranyaprathet by the guy from the visa run agency. Of course, after that , you have to get to Siam Reap from Aranya/poipet border, about 150kms. Road is Ok by cambodian standards. Never did it, with taxi share, I read 2, but probably 3 hours, not sure. Obviously, you will have to stay the night once you get to SR by late afternoon, to get to visit the site the next morning. And another night, before heading back to Pattaya. Though here, i am not sure how you hitch that bus ride, I am pretty sure there is no Aranyaprathet-Pattaya scheduled service. to BKK, yes, and train too. Hope someone with surer infos can help.
