Guest
I just knew that I was setting myself up for Bigkev's reply. This term came to me in an email from a girl in BKK. She used to be a massage girl. Her words were "Bye for now I get to go whong num". This was her spelling. I guess that she thought I would know what she was talking about. When I asked her what it meant she said something like "oh it mean nothing". Maybe she was embarrased. Her written English isn't great. I don't know about her transliteration skills. Does this add any insight for you language experts? Come to think of it Bigkev I think this is what I say after an all night session on Vitamin V "OOOH dahling now my whong num". Thanks for all of your replies
Boo Radley
Could be she was saying she had to go to the toilet - HAWNG NAM (as noo6 posted earlier). [ July 29, 2001: Message edited by: Boo Radley ]
Big Kev
I believe this describes response of Thai person when you have dialed telephone incorrectly and reach them by mistake.
Flashermac
Maybe he means ramwong That's a dance. Or fong nam -- that's foam on the water. You can make a lot of that in the tub before a massage.
elef
Hi, an old TGF used to pronounce 'wrong number' as 'whong num'. (I see Big Kev was first with this theory.) Surely this is not where you can go... elef [ July 30, 2001: Message edited by: elef ]
