Our young hero Marty McFly travels back in time to 1955 to act as cupid for his parents. If they do not meet - then they won't fall in love - they won't get married - they won't have kids - and poor little Marty will not exist. Interestingly, Dr. Emmet Brown, the mad scientist's dog is called 'Einstein' after the famous German born theoretical physicist famous for his theories of relativity and significant contributions to quantum mechanics.
