Interesting, especially the numbers of under 14's getting preggers.

 

"Prisana Pongthadsirikul, secretary-general of the Commission, told a press conference yesterday that 34.7 per cent of their partners were high-school boys, 24 per cent were in primary education, 10 per cent were vocational students."

 

So 70% of the partners impregnating them were other schoolage boys. But, my question then is ... who were the other 30% fathers of these babies? Teachers? Fathers? Older men? Relatives? Rapists? Punters? Wish these sort of stats would go the full monty and include more depth.

very very few students would get pregnant, this included undergrad students as any student who is prego must resign from school

makes me wonder if teaching realistic sex ed in school would prevent much of this.

Let us not forget that Bangkok is only a subset of Thailand, and in some communities, espeically in some communities in Issan, getting married at 14 or 15 is still completely normal.
