whosyourdaddy
I just bought a BBQ and need to buy some propane gas for it. Tried a few of the cooking gas companies but they only carry natural gas? Dont think that is safe to cook with. Any ideas? Thanks WYD
BadaBing
You might want to try a Forklift company as those run on propane , or if you know someone who works in a warehouse , they may be able to give you a name also. What's for dinner ? BadaBing
Guest
Natural gas, propane gas, fart in a bottle, it's all safe to cook with. The difference between natural and propane is that the jet size is different. I'm not sure, and please take professional advice, but I think that the natural gas jet is slightly larger. I once had a professional stove for my restaurant converted to natural gas by drilling all the jets out to a slightly larger hole. So if you can get some one to drill your jets to the appropriate size you're probably set. Please check this out with a gas fitter, I hate to hear of you going into orbit after slapping a prawn on the barbie!
Guest
Best is not to take any risks with this. Why don't you ask the company you bought the barbeque?
whosyourdaddy
I did just that. And they gave me the same answer. Although they have never heard of propane. they assured me that a the gas is safe. Why did I just not ask them to begin with??? Because I have lived in Thailand long enough not to trust a guy who is getting 4000B a month working at a dept store when it comes to the safety of me and my family
