texascity Posted November 1, 2006 Report Share Posted November 1, 2006 was stuck in traffic coming from Bangkok Dental .. gazing out the taxi window, stuck in Suk afternoon traffic 2 blocks to my destination Phrom Phong .. & I see a BEAUTIFUL TUBE AMPLIFIER in a store front window .. I throw 50 Thb to the driver & hop out .. thankfully he was in the curb lane! Angelic Audio .. WOW! at the corner of Suk & Soi 30. custom audio equipment manufactured in Bangkok tube amps, bi-amped speakers, tower speakers all wrapped in solid teak. Khun Kris has a few CDs & DVDs to audition with in his plush listening rooms .. they put the CD in a Tascam CD player & give you the remote .. I walked down to the Emporium & got the new Mark Knopfler (sp, the Dire Straits guy) & Emmy Lou Harris CD.. "All the Road Running" .. quite nice! I'm listening to the CD now .. remembering how it sounded on a real system. Kris uses US tubes & electronics & speaker drivers .. systems are in the 200,000 Thb range!
