silversmith Posted January 28, 2007 Report Share Posted January 28, 2007 "zoning" is already happening and that since 2002, only the closing time aspect of it not. the heavier part of it, which isnt discussed alot is, that police stations in the zoned areas can issue new entertainment and alcohol licenses, the police stations outside the zones can not, means you want to open a bar in sukhumvit, you have to find an old license and pay for that or you pay the guys in brown and operate without license. in terms of closing times, the tourists will have their areas, and you will see patpong growing into six, ten whatever floors entertainment buildings, and sukhumvit will die, not from one day to the other, but gradually.
