BkkShaggy
Shagster, yer right. I did not really read this post that closely before. But wouldn't à ¸Âà ¸±à ¹?à ¸?à ¸?à ¸¡ have a very bad connotation? Like "play with her tits without permission?" Just extrapolating, since I don't know of a meaning for à ¸Âà ¸±à ¹?à ¸? on its own, but doesn't à ¹Âà ¸?à ¹?à ¸°à ¸Âà ¸±à ¹?à ¸? (dtae-ang) mean "rape?" What does just à ¹Âà ¸?à ¹?à ¸° mean? Anything? Cheers, SD Never heard of à ¸Âà ¸±à ¹?à ¸?à ¸?à ¸¡ too. But dtae-ang (à ¹Âà ¸?à ¹?à ¸°à ¸Âà ¸±à ¹?à ¸?) dean't mean rape for sure. It is a verb meaning "touch a woman/girl with sexual purposes". For example, a guy à ¹Âà ¸?à ¹?à ¸°à ¸Âà ¸±à ¹?à ¸? a girl by acting unintentaionally on Songkran day. Note that it is only "touch", not more than that. I think it comes from a Chinese word. But asked a Thai friend who has a Chinese blood he doesn't have any clue, at least, not from Cantonese. BkkShaggy
à ¹Âà ¸?à ¸° dtae(l) short low tone, no tone marker dtae!(l)and dtae!(l)-dtawng(f) both mean TO TOUCH Sam-pad = à ¸ªà ¸±à ¸¡à ¸?à ¸±à ¸ª also means "to touch" ang® nom I have seen several times in movie subtitles, but I take this as slang since it can't be found in any dictionary. Have not been able to get confirmation from a Thai. It's funny sometimes to see how they translate English into Thai subtitle. Sometimes it is not accurate to a fault. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I haven't seen the word à ¹Âà ¸?à ¹?à ¸°à ¸Âà ¸±à ¹?à ¸? translated in any movies. But most of the Thais I've asked around believe that the word comes from Chinese as the sound of it indicated so. Still I've tried to find the word from Thai online dict. http://rirs3.royin.go.th/ridictionary/lookup.html but there is not such word in it. So I guess it is a slang but very popularly used for a long time now.

luckyfarang
My further research indicates that: dtae!(l) ang® and also dtae!(l) nit(h) dtae!(l) nawy(l) mean "to feel a girl up" and luang(f) gern means: to take liberties with, or to go too far
