Mr Pickles
Looking to cut down on the amount of noise I take in each day and was wondering what techniques / products you find useful for filtering out BKK's excessive sounds. Thanks
adawes
The inexpensive foam expandable earplugs work best, but I've also used bits of paper napkins if I don't have anything else.
OCgringo
I use the foam expandable earplugs when I fly , cuts down much of the noise but not all of it , I also use them sleeping at the hotel at night, I do not think I would want to use them while walking around BKK , there are too many crazy drivers trying to run you over OC
FreeTime
The foam expandable plugs are excellent. Bring a bunch as they are easily lost. Good earplugs seem to be harder to find in BKK and expensive. On the flight(s)over you can also ask the attendant for a free set. Useful for sleeping, loud bars, etc.
OCgringo
We might want to hear from Old hippie on what they use at the airport, I would think some space age , hi tech stuff, but probably since they cut the budget at his work its back to old newspapers in the ears OC
Julian2
Years working in high noise industries did it for me, it has to be pretty loud before I even notice it now. (Drives angry women to distraction!)
cavanami
The best ear plugs are molded and form fitted to your ears. The "muffs" are good as long as they seal properly. The foam ones are the next good ones. I have used all three styles over the years and even ganged like the foam ones and then put on the muffs. Pescator
Seems like thais use coins as ear plugs, particularly on public transportation.
