Prosal
I've always dreamed of a 6 monthes Round the World trip (that I will probably never do, but who knows ? ) and find the features of the Round the World ticket on Star Alliance really cool, and the fares really attractive : 3400â?¬ on economic-class, and 7300 â?¬ on business-class. "You can take as few as three, or as many as 15 stopovers in different cities. Start and end of your journey have to be located in the same country and one Atlantic and one Pacific crossing have to be included in your itinerary. Your journey may last any time between ten days and a year. You can change the dates of most of your flights at any time, except for those flights up to and including your first international or intercontinental journey. For a small fee, you will be permitted to change destinations" http://192.217.192.34/rtwmc-web/rtwmc.php So what could be your Star Alliance Round the World dream trip ? Mine (not including a few side-trips within Brasil) : Paris - Moscow (Luthansa) Moscow - BKK - Jakarta (Thai) Jakarta - Ho Chi Min (Sing Air) Ho Chi Min - Tokyo (ANA) Tokyo - Seoul (ANA) Seoul - Mexico (UA, just to break the Asia/South America flight) Mexico - Sao Paulo (Varig) Sao Paulo - Buenos Aires (Varig) Buenos Aires - Johannesburg - Antinanarivo (South African Air) Antinanarivo - Paris (Lufthansa)
MooNoi
You can actually download a pretty cool itinerary planner from the Star Alliance website here It's a pretty cool little gadget to mess around with and plan "dream trips". Haven't really worked out my dream itinerary yet as where I want to go keeps changing every week, but at the moment it would be something like: Bangkok - Johannesburg (Thai) (Transit) Johannesburg - Cape Town (SAA) Cape Town - J'burg - Cairo (SAA) Cairo - Frankfurt (Transit) - Berlin (Lufthansa) Berlin - Vienna (Luthansa) Vienna - Paris (Austrian) Paris - London (BMI) London - Copenhagen (SAS) Copenhagen - New York (SAS) New York - Orlando (United) Orlando - Las Vegas (United) Las Vegas - Vancouver (Air Canada) Vancouver - Hong Kong (Air Canada) Hong Kong - Seoul (Asiana) Seoul - Tokyo (Asiana) Tokyo - Bangkok (Thai) I would probably augment that itinerary with a few flights in Europe and the US on some low-cost carriers like Ryan Air and Southwest etc. Mods... shouldn't this be in the TRAVEL thread??
