Flashermac Posted August 14, 2007 Report Share Posted August 14, 2007 Bangkok has best vegetarian restaurants Bangkok (dpa) - Two of Asia's top 10 vegetarian restaurants are in Bangkok, according to the results of a meatless-meals survey released Tuesday by the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), an animal-protection group best known for its nude protests. PETA, which has gained some notoriety in Asia by using nearly naked women to stage protests against meat consumption at Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) outlets, on Tuesday released the results of its first survey of Asian restaurants that "are best at meeting the demand for meatless meals." Leading the vegetarian pack were the two Bangkok-based restaurants Vegetarian Cottage and Govindas, PETA said. Also on the list were Korean Temple Cooking in Seoul, Taim Hakaim in Israel, Nataraj in Tokyo, The Farm in Manila, Hoi Sum in Hong Kong, Fortune Centre in Singapore, Vegetarian Life Style in Shanghai and Little Italy in Mumbai.
