zob65
Watching Discovery travel and living channel tonight, there was a cooking show on with some American bloke in Hong Kong. He went to a restaurant that sells and cooks snakes. I would presume that the snakes had been de fanged as he had a cobra and a coral snake crawling all over him. They proceeded to rip the gall bladder out of the live snake and he drank the concoction. Then after consumed a snake meal with relish. Isnâ??t Discovery suppose to be one of the greener channels? I donâ??t think they should be promoting anti environmental type activities, maybe even illegal activities, such as Chinese eating every thing that moves. Flashermac
The Chinese do that in Bangkok, but it's hardly evening television fare. What's next, watching Filipinos strangling dogs and then eating their cadavers?
chuckwoww
That's what people want on TV these days...something exotic and different. Look at the big fuss they make about eating bugs.
zob65
I wasnt too worried about the gory part of it as we see it all the time here in Thailand. But the fact that the program condoned it and kind of promoted it as a thing you could try when you visited Honkers

colorwolf
indeed...instead he made pad thai at the blue elephant (nobody would ever think of going there for pad thai) and tom yam on the oriental boat (i believe)...so much for exploring street food... chuckwoww
It's all about TV. One day somebody will do a show where celebrity chefs attack each other with meat cleavers and the winner cooks up what's left.
