vinod
Flaws seen in zoning plan The Interior Ministry was told to readjust its entertainment zoning policy after the cabinet's screening panel found it was not comprehensive enough. Kuthep Saikrachang, deputy PM's Office minister, said the panel went through the ministry's proposal to issue 10 royal decrees to designate three entertainment zones for Bangkok in Patpong, Phetchaburi and Ratchada areas. The ministry wanted to allow the existing entertainment businesses located outside the proposed zones to continue operating. The panel, however, asked what it planned to do with the establishments sited in the vicinity of schools and temples. It said the zoning was part of the social order regulation which the people approved because they wished to see strict measures implemented. But the ministry seemed ``hesitant'' to launch stern measures to avoid affecting existing entertainment operators.
