TheSaint
A warm night-scented breeze caresses my face as I ride in the taxi down Sukhumvit Road on my way from the airport to my condo on Soi 22. The window is down. I want it down. I am trying to absorb all the scents of this seductive, depraved, and perverted part of Krueng Thep that I have missed so much the past month gone. The smells are like a taste of long deprived China White to a junkie just out from rehab. Tantalizing, the air seems to seep into my pores, not just my lungs. Itâ??s hard to say how much these pheromone-like aromas are a part of me now. Years gone by, newly arrived, they made me gag and sneeze and wonder how anyone could even walk on the crumbled sidewalks without something covering their nose and face. Now I am like a durian addict, smelling gastronomic delights where most would flee gasping for breath and fresh air.
