Where to go?

I will be getting in at midnight. I figure by the time I clear customs, get to the hotel, shower and shave, it will be about 2AM. Should I just go to sleep and wait for the next morning or is there a good place to go. I am a newbie so I really want things to be easy hassle free. With the current crack down on closing times, if I have to, it will not kill me to wait a day. I just wonder how much of the this crackdown is hype.

You don't say where you are staying so I'll assume it is in the Nana area. Same advice will apply for other areas. You willprobably be wide awake and don't know your way around. I'd walk around the Nana plaza area so you can find it the next day. It may yet be early enought that things will still be open. If nothing is open go to the Nana Hotel and have a beer and something to eat. There will probably be some single girls lurking around.

Or, get a good nights sleep and hit the bricks running the next day.

BTM--Take a sleeping pill and get a decent night's sleep. Even an experienced player will face slim pickings at 2am, these days. Then, reward your patience with a morning massage. wink.gif" border="0

If you get in at midnight, you might be hitting the streets by 1:30 AM. However, being a newbie, 30 minutes isn't much time to adjust to the Bangkok scene. The suggestion to wander around is a good one, but if you feel like you want some action, have a cab take you to Bangkok Palace Hotel. There is a massage parlor in the basement open to 5 AM that has a nice selection of girls (about 20) and allows takeout. There are other places open after 2 AM (Harlem massage, Rose's Pub, Jasmine Club, etc) that many of the cabs know about, but expect to pay a kickback to the cabbie.

You must be coming in on the same flight as I will but mine is in November. Korean Air right? I'm a newbie myself and just planned on going to sleep but I know that soon as I touch down the excitement of arriving will give me a second wind and I won't be able to sleep despite probably not sleeping for 24 hours or more from being on the plane. I'll probably stay at the Ruamchitt Plaza and might go grab something to drink at the Thermae. But if your the same as me with no sleep then you won't be making too much sense. My senses now would tell me to just watch the first night until you settle down and can sleep.

Hi...My advice is to wait until right before you leave to see if the current situation changes. My guess is that you'll still be able to connect with someone on the street, but it will be hit or miss.

One idea might be to contact one of the many escort services that offer "delivery" to have someone come to you at, say, 1:30AM. I have never used them and they are more expensive than a ST a-go-go girl, but send 'em an email and ask for specifics. What do you have to lose? My guess is also that the Grace Hotel may be a possibility, since I don't think the crackdown has negatively affected that place, but am not sure. Anybody out there know? Good hunting.

chicago dave, Don't want to hurt your feelings but escort agency is a very bad idea. The girl they will send will not be up to standard. Good idea thought to hang out on the street around the closing night areas. Look for a girl giving the eagar eye. She's available or if he isn't sure take her somewhere to eat and get to know her first.

Nepfan - I was wondering about those services. I always thought they'd be on a par with MP ladies, but was just guessing. If the law comes down any harder, though, you might find that this is a transition for nice looking a-go-go, massage and soi 33 ladies. Think about it. If the bars are restricted, they might get more business and fly "under the radar" this way. At least for a while. Purely speculative however. Take care. Chicago Dave

To Boogaloo:

Ditto on the street action. Since Ruamchitt hotel is right over Thermae, walking out onto the front steps around 2AM will probably cause you to stumble across a whole slew of ladies looking lost and unemployed. A walk down the Sukhumvit towards NEP would probably run across others. Don't bother to cross over to NEP unless you just really feel like you won't be able to sleep.

When I've been on a late / early arrival I've always found the escort places to be a good deal and always had a good looking girl that's eager to please.

The company sometimes calls back to check that you've had a good time and at baht 3,000 for a couple of hours it's a better deal than some of the go-go action.

You also get a great massage which is very enjoyable after a long flight in.
