mapache
I'm coming to Thailand from the U.S. My laptop and other electronic appliances are all 110/240, so I don't need a converter. However, I will be traveling to places in Thailand where I might need an adapter. Can anyone tell me where in Bkk I can get adapters. fool
Electric here is (theoretically at least) 220 volts 50Hz. Anything with a universal 100 through 240 type power supply, most modern laptops and other gadgets, should be fine. Outlets here are a mix of 2 or 3 pin and usually take a standard US 2 pin flat blade plug without complaint. Most are actually a 'sort of' universal handling US flat and EU round pins. If you need to plug a three pin plug into a 2 pin socket (I'm not going to get into the safety earth related issue here, I'll assume you're a big boy) and if you are anywhere near civilisation just pop into the nearest Tops or Villa or Foodland and go to the household section where you should be able to find what you need. If in a hotel just call housekeeping.
