Julian2
Yeah, I've got it in Chiang Rai. I had Satellite for a while which was a lot better than nothing or driving to town to use the 'net cafes. As soon as the village was hooked up to the land line last year we got the phone on and connected to TOT which works great. At 590B a month for the second level... 1mb to 2mb??? it's about a third the price of the satellite as well. I have no hesitation in recommending it... IF... you get the same service I have. Remember this is Thailand!
samak
just found out that KSC also offers ADSL upcountry on a TOT line. costs are a bit steep though! 1990 THB per month for a 1024/512 line. anybody any experience with them? worth the more than double cost in comparison to TOT? tartempion
I finally got hold of a POT landline in the moo baan here and took TOT ADSL, don't think I have other choices and threw their Crapstar out of the window (700B versus 1605 POT tel. line included) Early in the morning downloads between 2 and 3 Mb, later in the day crawls and disconnects. I have a Linsys WAG200 wireless router, seems sensible to some unknown fluctuations, daytime I often switch to TOT modem to have more chances not getting disconnected For the money it's OK but could be a lot better. in Europe I have a stable 10Mb connection, Thailand is still in the boondocks. Julian2
Thailand is still in the boondocks Which, of course, is the reason we live here my friend.
