cavanami
Just did my 90 day visa run to Pol Pet, Cambodia. Here's the updated costs: Cambodia visa (issued in bangkok): $25 USD Casino bus from BangNa Big C: 200 baht Casino bus back to BangNa Big C: 300 baht No more free buffet lunch at any of the casinos, they all charge around 150 baht. Did pick up 1 liter of Black Label for a friend: 760 baht, which he said was cheap. Inside the casinos at their "duty free" shops, it was priced at 1080 baht, so buying it on the street is cheaper but shop around for the best price. Julian2
I'm off to Vientiane on Sunday, overnight first class bus from Chiang Rai to Udon Thani 680B. Arrive about 4am, get the bus to Nong Khai for about 50B and cross the border, $35, and be at the Royal Thai Embassy when it opens, taxi 200B, to apply for visa, 1000B. Book into Saysana Hotel and Knocking Shop, 200B without extras, go out and drink Beer Lao... (you really don't want to go there) and pick up visa the next day. Back to the border, 200B unless someone wants to share, then bus to Udon and home the same night. 50B plus 680B.

Palatkik
What were the queues like there?
cavanami
No queues. Walked right thru all the border crossing, Thai and Cambo, but this was Thursday. Weekends are more crowded. I have had one hour waits in the queues on the weekends, some years ago. If you are just trying to get a 30 day re-entry stamp, make sure you have your on-going ticket or some proof or there is a chance you may not get into to Thailand as there are signs around the Thai Immi that state you need on-going proof. I have a 1 year visa, good for 90 day stays, so no hassle for me.
