fatbastard33
Dear All, Can anybody tell me when will the water throwing stop in Pattaya? I have been there when Songkran is on the go and it is a pain in the arse as loads of guys get pissed as a fart and continue to throw water into the evening. I do not mind it during the day but not in the evening. I am wanting to go there in April but not get involved in the water throwing. TroyinEwa/Perv
Doing a quick search.......I would say if your plans are flexible, give it until at least the 20th. 19th seems to be their big day. Might die down after that.
3juddy3
I was there at Songkran a few years ago. It goes on and on for like 6 days. Never again. Stupid falangs mainly, soi 2-8. Give yourself a good breathing space.
dddave
According to a TAT ad in the Bangkok Post, Chonburi (Pattaya) Songkran runs from 13/4 to 21/4 however you can bet your raincoat that they'll start tossing the water on the 10th, when Bangkok's Songkran begins (finishing on the 15th)
Flashermac
Songkran is officially 13 to 15 April and is a government holiday. All the other dates are "unofficial". Pattaya begins its own "Songkran" after the holiday is actually over, just as KSR begins and ends before it starts.
Encore
Pattaya official dates seem to be 16-19, but on 20 it shifts south for one day to Bang Saray, 20 km south of Pattaya.
Flashermac
Apparently, many of the Pattaya BGs go home and spend the real Songkran with their families. Then they return to Pattaya to do it all over again.
cavanami
Quite of few of the ladies on the plane from Japan to BKK last night looking to join in on Songkran!
