Ups and downs in BKK Feb/Mar 2002

The first down was arriving 24 hours later than planned when bad weather made me to miss my connecting flight.

The first up was visiting the Eden Club to set up takeout for the next afternoon and being seduced to have a successful romp with two girls on the premises. That definitely had not been intention, because my previous attempt at using Eden's services immediately after the flight had been very frustrating. That time I simply had not been able to come whatever the girls did.

A down was executing the takeout deal the next day and discovering that I'm simply not able to handle 18 hours of sex. I was totally exhausted after three hours and basically passed out. I was barely able to do anything the next morning. This made the takeout less than cost-effective. Other guys clearly can do it: my girl told that she does not like to do takeout, because she does not get enough sleep... In my case that was not a problem. frown.gif

An up was that many of the ladies behaved as if they liked me, which was quite a difference to my previous trip. On the other hand, on several days I did not feel at all like taking a lady for the night. (A down.)

A down was the totally inappropriate rainy day. An up was the wonderfully cool two days that gave to BKK. Otherwise the heat was already quite oppressive.

A down was visiting Patpong and finding it quite uninteresting. It is supposed to have the prettiest girls, but I was not impressed. Even the impressive katoeys in King's Corner were missing. And it was not even very late in the evening.

A down was visiting Midnite Bar in Soi Cowboy, and once again being disappointed. I was not impressed by the Dollhouse, either. I left disgusted after a former Bottoms Up (NEP) girl helped herself to two drinks when I had promised her only one. In fact the whole Soi Cowboy did not seem to be any fun this time around, although it used to be my favourite.

An up was discovering that Bottoms Up (NEP) was swarming with good-looking girls after I had returned from my few day excursion to Manila. And the barfine was only 350 Baht! A down was that the most gorgeous girls were not even interested in my ladydrinks but preferred to cuddle with these handsome young farang boys who were far too present. It is not fair that reality does intrude on you in a gogo bar. ;-)

An up was that the tops came off in NEP towards the end of the week and on Sunday there were also a lot of bottomless girls. I took out one real short-time queen for a second run just before my flight. (I would have done it at an earlier opportunity but she was butterflying around too much with more handsome men to have any time for me before that...) She complained that pussy hair was no good now that they are bottomless and asked to borrow my disposable razor. I was not going to use it any more, so I was glad to oblige. As a result, I got a chance to satisfy my voyeuristic tendencies and spy on her shaving. We put the results shortly into good use in the 69 that followed. Far too short, but as I said, she was a real short-time queen.

A down was visiting Nana Disco on two evenings. Plenty of good-looking girls, but it clearly is not my venue. Too many younger and more handsome male alternatives were available, and it does not turn me on to be told in tens of seconds that it was going to be a ST or nothing.

An up was discovering Tivoli (Clinton Plaza). A very pleasant quiet atmosphere and a chance to play free pool. Especially good was that it is not a pool-oriented place, so I actually could play even at my louse level of skill. In the real pool places (New Wave, Bamboo) I'm immediately thrown out of the table and have to wait for ages in the evenings when those places get busy. Many very nice looking girls but I considered to 500 Baht barfine too expensive, since I did not expect these girls to charge me any less than the gogo girls at NEP. Some guys came in just after opening time to barfine their girl again, so the girls must have been good performers. Anyway, I found the atmosphere more pleasant than in the Living Room almost next door. Well, the special offer they had on Franziskaner weissbier (0.5 liter bottle for 100 Baht) was probably contributing - I was glad to help them to get rid of a slow mover...

A down was visiting Biergarten at Soi 7 on Saturday 6pm and seeing all those beautiful girls when I had also different plans for the evening. I had never been to the place around that time, only later or earlier, and the difference was quite astonishing. Even worse, it was my second to last evening, and I knew I had not time to try and hook up with any of these beauties.

An up was when a waitress in the pool place where I had been playing invited me to go with her to a jazz club after she finished work. Unfortunately we arrived far too early and the band was not playing. We went to look for dinner, but after having some quite unsatisfactory Thai food in a restaurant on Silom Street close to Robinson's (Bon-Bon?), she suddenly remembered that she was supposed to do her laundry that night. ;-) I guess I had not behaved according to the script being a perfect gentleman, so it must have been quite obvious by then that I was not going to provide any assistance in replacing the mobile phone she had ruined by getting it wet. She was quite cute, but I had really no desire to sleep with her when far more exciting alternatives were available.

An up was discovering why people claim that the sales girls at Robinson's look good. I had visited the Sukhumvit branch and had never understood those claims; the one on Silom was quite a different story...

A down was visiting Chao Phray II to finally get a body massage. I clearly arrived at a bad time (4pm) and the girls how were available for body massage were not that nice. The one I took at mamasan's suggestion had fair looks but a far too clinical attitude. She even had the cheek to tell me that I had not made her come. The body massage itself turned out not to be in my case the wild ride that pushes you to the brink of coming as others have reported. It was interesting, but I'm not dying to get a second run. Well, maybe with a different girl it would be better. The nicest bit was actually the manicure that the girl gave me in the end... The total cost with VIP room, drinks and tips was a bit below 2000B.

An up was that this time around several girls actually insisted that I keep on fucking them even after I had come. Thanks to Viagra I was even able to oblige. Pretty exhausting but quite satisfying in its own way. Of these girls was this babe I

barfined from Sexy Nights (NEP, 2nd floor). She may not have been the prettiest, but turned out to be some kind of nyphomaniac. She said that she liked sex too much. She totally wore me out - the next day I was totally incapable of any naughty activities. She was also into rough sex - made me pull her hair and bite her nipples (hard). First time I have had that happen and kind of scary... She must be a real gem, if you can keep up with the pace. Tthe torpor of the day after spending the night with her made me decide that I definitely could not. frown.gif

A down was visiting Thermae and finding the girls' attitude as bad is in Nana Disco. Fortunately I was saved by one Lao girl

who I had encountered on a previous trip. Not that beautiful but quite pleasant.

An up was Bottoms Up (NEP). I found the looks of the girls more than adequate. The not outrageously priced beer and

cheap barfines made it even more attractive. The energy level on the stage was quite high, too. I spent there most of my evenings with some longer visits to Angelwitch and Sexy Nights. I immediately exited the Crown group bars when I saw the price list. I could see no point in paying 110B for a beer when very satisfactory choices were available elsewhere.

A down was finally figuring out that the hot proprietor of the Barby bar in Asoke Plaza was way out of my class. It was pure serendipity that she and her bar were discussed on the board in the same timeframe. I had spent far too many hours in Barby drooling after her and hoping for what turned out to be clearly impossible. Well, the staff there is very nice, so I cannot claim that I had a bad time.

An up (?) was finding out that many Nana Plaza dancers are as sophisticated as to have printed business cards with colour photos and the necessary contact information (phone,e-mail).

A down was getting a hickey in the pool bar of Lolitas. The girl was very cute but had still had not got my legs back after the

previous night, so barfining her was just unthinkable. She got very 'pushy' in her sales efforts, and I could not stop her in time since I did not want to resort to pushing and shoving. It resulted in many amused "butterfly" comments on subsequent evenings, which felt kind of unfair when the hickey had not resulted from that.

An up was all the wonderful Thai food. Unfortunately I will suffer now, since I just could not help eating too much.

A down was wasting time visiting Soi 22 (Washington Square). Maybe I was there too late, and all the good girls had been barfined...

I was staying on Soi 8, so I decided to favour the local businesses: I finally paid a visit to Alley Cats Club, the sister establishment of Lolitas. The girls were not that ugly, if you insisted on making the choice. "Kitty Litter" was done in a quite nice short time room upstairs for the same rate as at Lolitas - 600 B. They would have had the girls available also for full short time either single or in pairs. Maybe the Patpong shops would have been better, but it was just too hot to make the trip there.

An up was having discovered the fine qualities of "nahm soda" and not getting blind drunk while barhopping.

A down was not getting out of town as I had planned, but I just was feeling too lazy, and the trip to Manila had been quite enough traveling.

The final down was of course having to go back home. frown.gif

Good trip report, Wagner. I've read your previous messages and noticed that sometimes you were more than a little unhappy. Hopefully, this trip has given you a little more perspective and experience.

My personal opinion is that this trip turned out better for you not because Thailand or the bars have changed, but that you yourself have changed a bit. Being more laid back and taking what comes your way always leads to a better time in Thailand. Forcing it, having a fixed agenda and timeframe, usually ends up bad. Take everyone else's experiences here with a grain of salt, while they may have had a good time, it may not be for you.

E.g. you didn't enjoy the body massage as much as others have raved about it. That's not necessarily because your girl wasn't that good at it. It may just be that it's not your cup of tea. I don't particular like them that much either. If the opportunity presents itself again and it looks good, give it another try, but don't go looking for it. There are so many things on my list to try for the first time, I don't need to go back and revisit the ones that weren't fantastic.

It is not fair that reality does intrude on you in a gogo bar.

I loved this quote and fully agree with it. Go-go bars are for fantasy, you good looking young guys should stay out; "you're interrupting my vibe."
