Guest
Just got back from a business trip/vist to our four african operaions centers and can report on "Nightlife" to the extent that it is in Lagos... This is a really tough place to be for non-locals.. Transportation is very difficult (reliable public transport is virtually non-exsistent) thus making access to the various night sports difficult at best. We were introduced to one particular spot, Ojuelegba, that did have some feeling of a "beer bar"... Local ladies all primped up and out looking for ??? .. We did not sample this scene, but does appear to exsist in some places... Also, bringing a "guest" back to your hotel (if it is one of the major multi-national chains) appears to be very hard. Signs are clearly posted that all guests after dark must be escorted and registered, no exceptions. --UPSer

Guest
vtombrown, don't cry for me just yet... LOL.. Sometimes, I actually enjoy going to some of our more "remote" operations.. Beats the regualr ol' ANC-TPE-HKG-BKK-SIN-MNL-ANC blahs! Can;t believe that I'm working on my 9th BKK trip of the year. The year has had only 12 weeks so far! Rusty, yes there were signs of Lagos' AIDS epidemic. In fact, the US embassy in Lagos makes it a point to warn of the possibilities for infection due to general poor hygene. Not only from sex, but from dental work (gums bleed too), routine hospitalizations, etc. Most everyone I met, who are foreigners, will travel to Europe for anything other than routine medical care needs versus having it done in Nigeria. So maybe my luck isn't so good?? --UPSer
