Mentors Posted September 11, 2009 Report Share Posted September 11, 2009 The United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship on Friday petitioned the National Anti-Corruption Commission, accusing Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and supreme commander Gen Songkitti Jaggabatara of attempted murder in the crackdown on UDD protesters during the Songkran riots this year. The petition, submitted by lawyer Karom Ponthaluang, alleged Mr Abhisit and Gen Songkitti ordered the crackdown on the red-shirts in violation of the Criminal Code. Mr Karom said the UDD, in submitting the petition, wanted to see if the NACC would apply the same standards it used in the investigation of the police crackdown on the People's Alliance for Democracy protesters on Oct 7 last year.
