TroyinEwa/Perv
I wish common-law divorce was recognized. I haven't lived with my wife in about 4 years but still married.

Dexi
In the UK if no kids are involved and the partners are not married then if the relationship goes petetong the owner of the house cant have any claims made against the property (or any other assets )by the other partner......Common Law marriage-not sure this really exists as a legal principle.... Under Thai law any assets belonging to a spouse before marriage are not taken into consideration in any divorce proceedings.....ie.only assets in joint names or accumulated during the marriage can be considered. TroyinEwa/Perv
Kind of off-topic a bit and not sure if it's ok to link this or not but this informative site gives some great legal advice on marriage and property for foreigners in Thailand. The advice is near the bottom and it's become a staple for the last few weeks.
