Flashermac
If it counts, when I was 16 my dad gave me a 1941 Buick Special ... straight eight engine, fancy chrome inside, even had turn indicators. It was one of the last made before the Pearl Habor attack turned car factories into producing only military vehicles. I wanted to completely restore it. But a few days later my dad changed his mind, took it away from me ... and sold it to the junk yard! He said he didn't want me "wasting my money on that old thing." I've been pissed off about it for nearly 50 years! Every now and then I would show him how much it would be worth restored - and remind him he GAVE IT AWAY to the bone yard for $45. After that the first car I really owned - with my name on the title - was a 1961 Dodge Lancer, a great little car to drive. I bought it from my dad when he got a new car and I offered him the trade in value. Drove it through my college years and until the Selective Service Board decided it desperately needed my services.
