Pom_Jao_Choo
Hey you know how the Thai words for "beutiful" and "steamed rice" are the same ? I assume differenct ones are at play here ? Mind you when you haven't had time to to prepare steamed rice for a few weeks it sure tastes beutiful.
Guest
I think that you are talking about plain rice. Have you ever asked for a neat scotch? What makes a scotch neat? Have you ever eaten a crown roast? Is it royal food? Have you ever drank booze on the rocks? Did you get a sore arse? Calling plain rice 'rice beautiful' is simply poetic. We do it, they do it. Think of the rice as being tidy.
Lamock Chokaprret
Likewise, the word for 'bad luck' is the same as 'beautiful' but without the rising tone. Midtone I think.
