Flashermac
Regarding several articles printed in your paper over the past week, we'd like to take the opportunity to correct some confusing statements that have been reported in the media recently. Thailand has not been placed on a new ''terror risk list'' of any kind. In fact, as President Obama highlighted in his June 2011 National Strategy for Counterterrorism, the US considers Thailand a key ally in fighting global terrorism. In addition, we would like to emphasise that there has been no change in the processing of visas or security checks for Thai citizens travelling to the United States. As has been the case for many years, the overwhelming majority of Thais who apply for US visas receive them, and we're proud of the robust exchange of travellers between the US and Thailand for tourism, business, education, and many other fields. As always, for more information on travelling to the United States, we encourage everyone to visit our webpage at http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/.
