Red shirts throughout the country should prepare for a new struggle because a movement to bring down the government of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is likely to kick into action in December, Pheu Thai party list MP and red-shirt core member Jatuporn Prompan said on Thursday.

Mr Jatuporn said in parliament that information about a movement to topple the government came from the red-shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship's (UDD) own intelligence network.

The movement involved politicians now in parliament and members of an old power clique.

It would coordinate activities aimed at bringing down the government, the same way it had sucessfully toppled the governments of Thaksin Shinawatra, Samak Sundaravej and Somchai Wongsawat.

Leading figures in the movement were the same people who brought down the past governments and the disssolved Thai Rak Thai and People Power parties, he said.

According to Mr Jatuporn, information from the red-shirts had never been fabricated and always turned out to be true.

Therefore, all red-shirts from village to provincial levels were warned to be prepared for another round of struggle. :susel:

At the same time, he had warned core Pheu Thai members that the government should fulfill the promises made during the election campaign, including the 300 baht minimum daily government wage and 15,000 baht starting salary for bachelor's degree graduates.

Only achievements in office could protect the government, he said.

"The situation as we see it now is like a placid lake, awaiting the day for a political tsunami to arise.

"It is obvious that the opposition does not seem to care much about the election defeat, probably because for the past 19 years the Democrat Party has suffered election defeats but still managed to be government twice.

"The movement to bring down the government will begin actions in December," Mr Jatuporn said.

On a number of leading red-shirts taking political posts, Mr Jatuporn said this was not unusual because these people had long worked for the Thai Rak Thai, People Power and Pheu Thai parties.

No matter what positions they held, they were still red shirts, he added.

Meanwhile, Thaksin's close aide and personal lawyer Noppadon Pattama said his boss does not want too much media spotlight because it could cause problems for the government led by his youngester sister, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

Mr Noppadon said in the past the deposed premier had been regularly in the news for his every move and overseas trip.

He said Thaksin did not travel to Laos to meet red shirts from Udon Thani, as expected, because he was afraid doing so could affect Bangkok's relations with Vientiane.

Thaksin had phoned in to apologise to the red shirts for missing the appointment.

Mr Noppadon said Thaksin wanted everyone to know that he would not do anything to cause problems for Thailand. :rotl:

About 500 red-shirts from Udon Thani led by Kwanchai Sarakham crossed the border on 10 buses to Laos yesterday because they had an appointment to see Thaksin at a hotel in Vientiane.

Thaksin did not show up.
