Boo Radley Posted September 10, 2011 Report Share Posted September 10, 2011 Came across this dramatic footage of a mother holding her baby hostage at knifepoint, which was doing the rounds on the Thai news channels these last few days. The incident occured on Friday 09/09/11 outside the Central World Shopping Mall on Ratchdamri Rd in BKK, where the single mother, Primreudee Jarunkamchai, 24, used to have a stall selling ladies underwear. The stall was seized by municipal officials last month, taking away her only means of support. She held the 11 month old baby hostage with a 12" knife and asked for justice, her stall having been taken away despite her apparently having kept up with rental payments. At the same time she cursed and rebuked municipal officials while warning people to stay away or she would harm the child. After a one hour stand-off, during a momentary lapse in concentration from the mother, one of the rescue workers, Bin Banleurit, saw an opportunity to grab the child and rushed in, disarming the girl.
