Good article, but yeah several Robinson's are missing.

 

 

 

You are right about people not wanting to hit the streets. I am paraphrasing here, but a study found that in a nutshell, the majority of Americans NEVER get more than 100 meters from the car their ENTIRE life. Not even one time.

 

 

 

The other thing about shopping in Thailand is that depending on where you go and what you are looking for, the experience can be less expensive, the same, or even more expensive than your home country. There are deals to be had for sure, but most of the places in that article tend to sell imported stuff with duties applied. Even buying local stuff those places means you're paying a lot more to cover premium facilities and staffing.
