cavanami
The Suk area continues to remain high and dry. Not far away (Ramkanhaeng) has water and behind Secon, I see the water rising up our of the sewers, but only low spots with 10 ~ 20cm of water. Bar4
Good mate of mine lives in Sai Mai, north of the old airport. In an email yesterday he reports the water level is dropping and the worst appears over. Let's hope so. Cheers, Mark
gobbledonk
At the risk of enraging those caught up in this disaster, all this talk of 'Dutch flood experts' (surely a dime a dozen in the flattest country on earth ?) reminds me of the juvenile merriment that erupted when, as a schoolboy, we were introduced to the little Dutch boy who stuck his finger in a dyke. Throw in the wooden clogs, the hilarious 'dutch oven' pranks on school camps and I'm afraid the Australian image of the Netherlands has never been good.
