sayjann
a few more places i remember. the cemetries in France with graves of many soldiers. the same with the graves near the River Kwai..both moving places. but on a happier note i live in a city which while built up by the Romans but was a port before that. a lot of history to be found for those interested. the Badlands in South Dakota,USA,such a beautiful place at all times of day. remember being there with my Uncle and my 2 young cousins and we got confronted by a rather large bear, very scary but exciting at the same time. Katoomba in Australia, such a spectular site. i also liked New York, only spent a couple of Days there but done the sights and took in the atmosphere.
