Boo Radley
LAWN ËÅèù I haven't heard the word used in conversation myself, but have seen it in written Thai. From one source: Used as a second person pronoun, equivalent to you; used when speaking to a woman rather condescendingly. Used as a third person pronoun, equivalent to she, now somewhat obsolete. daeng bireley
GTG, I was talking about 2nd person, and after re-reading the post again I realise KS was speaking about 3rd person. I am sure as a 2nd person its use is pretty much as I describe. As a 3rd person one would need to be a little careful wouldn't they ? wouldn't you at least need to know the person or be friendly with them ? ¡ÒÃãªéÊÃþ¹ÒÃà »é¹´éÒ¹¹èÒʹ㨢çÀÒÉÒä·Â Pronoun use is an interesting aspect of thai. I would say ¡ÒÃãªéÊÃþ¹ÒÃà »ç¹á§èÃØ÷Õè¹èÒʹ㨢çÀÒÉÒä·Â ËÃ×à ¡ÒÃãªéÊÃþ¹ÒÃà »ç¹à Ã×èç·Õè¹èÒʹ㨢çÀÒÉÒä·Â Sometimes you can't translate word by word - got to write the way Thais write. GTG.
