Guest
Hello all 2 weeks before my trip and I've broken my camera. Does anyone know how the cost of these in Bangkok compares to what it is back in the UK? I'm not after a digital or anything too fancy, just a reasonably decent 35mm compact with zoom and auto-most things. The model I've got an eye on is OLYMPUS MJUIIZOOM 35MM ZOOM CAMERA Its just under £150 in the UK. Any guide to the BKK price? Or are there any Thai based shopping websites where I can look it up myself? Cheers
gene1944
I can't answer about Thailand vs UK prices but I was recently looking for a good auto focus camera (Pentax 170mm Zoom) and found prices in Bangkok were about 40% higher than prices in the states. Also, all the prices for that particular camera were exactly the same in several different stores that I checked. Hmmmm. I am going to wait for a trip to Singapore, Hong Kong or back to the states to buy my camera.

Guest
Thanks a lot for looking those up Wowzer, much appreciated mate. The one I looked at here was the 140 (i think) so there's not a lot of difference then. I will buy it here so I can retain the option of head butting the sales assistant when it breaks down a day after the warranty expires. cheers
