Warranties on computer equipment

If I live in Chiang Mai and buy computer equipment in Bangkok and it breaks down within the warranty period, do I have to take it or send it back to the Bangkok dealer to get it fixed, or can I take it to an authorized service center for that brand in Chiangmai?

 

 

 

I ask because someone told me I'd have to go back to Bangkok. Long trip. And maybe the dealer will have gone out of business.
