Came across this powerful documentary film, Chosen (2005), available for viewing online in the links below, detailing the historic abuse of boys in UK boarding schools. Required watching for anyone with kids, warning of the dangers of entrusting your children to other people.

"...Chosen is testament to the power of a compelling story, simply told. The film deals with a subject often whispered but rarely spoken about – the sexual abuse of boys by teachers in Britain’s private schools...

...For thirty years the boys, and the men they became, stayed silent, nursing the dark secret of the abuse they suffered. But in this film, Tom, Mark and Alastair break that silence with spellbinding articulacy and breathtaking honesty - telling their stories straight to camera..."

The abuse was covered up for many years by the UK establishment, enabling one of the main abusers, Peter Wright, who was a teacher and headmaster at Caldicott school In Hertfordshire for almost 40 years, to escape the arm of the law for decades. Current Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Nick Clegg, is a former Caldicott pupil.

Wright was finally brought to justice and found guilty in Dec 2013 and is due to be sentenced on 6th Feb 2014.
