Flashermac
A petition was lodged with the Criminal Court today by a lawyer of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee seeking the withdrawal of arrest warrants against protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban and 17 other core members of the group. Lawyer Viroj Poomsirisawat told the court that since the announcements of the Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order imposing a host of restrictions on the protesters have become ineffective as a result of the Civil Court’s ruling on Wednesay, the arrest warrants should also be ineffective accordingly. Besides Suthep, the other 17 PDRC core members facing arrests on a string of charges are Sathit Wongnongtoey, Chumpol Julasai, Putthipong Punnakan, Issara Somchai, Withaya Kaewparadai, Thavorn Senniam, Natthapol Theepsuwan, Ekkanat Prompong, Ms Anchalee Praireerat, Nitithorn Lumlua, Uthai Yodmaee, Samdin Lertbutr, General Preecha Iamsuphan, Ratchayut Siriyothinpakdee, Kittichai Saisa-ard, Samran Rodpetch and Pansuwan na Kaew. The court is due to issue a ruling on February 27. The 13 protest leaders include Somkiat Pongpaibul, Somsak Kosaisook, Ms Chitpas Kridagara, Seri Wongmontha, Thanom Onkatepol, Buddha Issara, Sawit Kaewwarn, Nopporn Muangtaen. http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/pdrc-lawyer-asks-withdrawal-arrest-warrants-suthep-friends/
