Trat is on the Cambodian border, and the attackers almost certainly were Cambodian. The Thai Navy SEALs' commander warned long ago that vans of Cambodians mercenaries were reported entering Issan. The Thai Army and Air Force commanders have also been concerned about this.

I was at a hospital today for a checkup, and I mentioned the Trat attack. My doctor that said Cambodian soldiers were also in Bangkok. Two of them were killed at Lak Sri when they attacked the protesters and the mysterious "men in black" - including the "popcorn man" arrived to defend the whistle blowers. He indicated where one of the Cambodians was struck in the neck fatally by a bullet. He said the government is trying to keep this quiet. This doesn't necessarily mean the government is responsible for the Cambodians, but it certainly means that whoever is behind them is determined to protect the Shinawatra government at any cost. :hmmm:
