Flashermac Posted March 20, 2014 Report Share Posted March 20, 2014 THE SO-CALLED "popcorn gunman" Thursday confessed to police that he worked as a People's Democratic Reform Committee guard and was one of the gunmen involved in the Laksi shoot out incident a day before the February 2 general election. Wiwat Yodprasit, 24 told a press conference he was paid 300 baht a day to provide security for the PDRC protesters at the Chaeng Wattana rally site. He said he worked under a chief guard called Sumet, who went by the alias Men, and he claimed it was Sumet who gave him the M16 he used that day. Wiwat said he fired at least 20 bullets and concealed the gun in the corn bag to collect spent bullet shells. He said that after the incident he hid by mingling among protesters before moving to live in the house of Sumet's wife in Surat Thani. They laid down suppressive fire, the way we were taught to react to an ambush - keep your enemy down and drive them back.
