cavanami
I had the misfortune of taking Sukhumvit past Soi 107 to get on the Outer Ring road. I hadn't been that way in some years, only to find Sukk all tore up with construction of another extension of the BTS. It appears the Thai gov has money for a BTS extension, but none for the rice farmers! Also, they have lanes shutdown for construction on both sides of the Rama 9 bridge over the river. Yesterday had a HUGE taffic jam, from 5 Kms before the toll booths until the BKK side of the river. From Bangna all the way to the river was a solid jam! Great planning, don't bother to finish one side of the bridge before shutting down the other side...azzholes!!!
Flashermac
The BTS extensions to Nonthaburi and Thonburi have been going on for years. Unfortunately, this results in the roads being reduced to only two lanes in many places. Plus construction vehicles even block one of the lanes when they are working. Lots of fun ... cavanami
At least they have more then two people working on the Suk extension! Those Nonthaburi and Thonburi extensions more often then not, have nobody there working! Hell, they were working on an overpass on Rama 2 for five years, just finished middle of last year and the road was as rough as can be! should have been a three month project, but they drag it out to five, farkin' years!!!
