Flashermac
The Office of the Constitutional Court today hit back at the Centre for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO), accusing it of overstepping its authority and interfering with the affairs of the court. CAPO’s main responsibility is to prevent, suppress, stop, rectify or mitigate incidents affecting national security in accordance with the Internal Security Act, said the Office of the Constitutional Court. But CAPO’s statement issued today was just a speculation of events which may happen in the future, said the office, adding that the speculation was deemed intimidating and meddling with the use of discretion of the court in a way which will discredit the Constitutional Court. Citing Article 197 paragraph 1 of the Constitution, the office said that the performance of duties of Constitutional Court and the other courts are protected by the law, adding that it will ponder legal actions against CAPO. http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/constitutional-courts-office-hits-back-capo/
