waerth
http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/seized-weapon-samut-sakhon-links-lethal-attack-trat/ A top police officer in charge of investigating bomb and gun attacks of anti-government protesters has revealed that the arm cache seizure in Krathumban district of Samut Sakhon province was proved to link to the lethal attack in Trat province which killed two children. Deputy commissioner of the Royal Thai Police Pol Gen Aek Angsananot told a press conference Monday that investigation into the case of military grade weapons that were confiscated in Krathumban district revealed that one of particular weapon, a .45mm caliber M3 machine gun, was found to match exactly the shell casings that was used to attack PDRC protesters at the rally at Khao Saming district in Trat province on February 22nd of this year. The lethal gun and bomb attack resulted in a number of casualties, including the death of two children. He said the evidence points strongly to the fact that the machine gun seized was proved to be used in the Trat attack. But he maintained that authorities have yet to determine the reason behind the attack stating only that the attack had nothing to do with the military as was alleged earlier. Flashermac
"But he maintained that authorities have yet to determine the reason behind the attack ..." So a PDRC protest was attacked and the red shirts in Khorat hooted and hollered when they heard the news, but there couldn't possibly be any connection.
