Guest Posted June 26, 2002 Report Share Posted June 26, 2002 I think the Ritz Carlton is right next to the bus station, and to the left of food stalls with owners wearing black silk top hat and tails selling lobster thermador and steak Diane. Sorry. I couldn't resist...... For all I know, they do have some nice hotels up there. Chaing Mai has some really upscale places, so I would think Udon Thani does also. khwaimaisabai Posted June 26, 2002 Report Share Posted June 26, 2002 I have stayed at the Napalai and the Ban Chiang. Both very pleasant and upscale but not really comparable to a five star in BKK. Napalai is a bit out of the town centre but I liked it the best of the two. There is another one that is right next to a shopping mall (including a Robinson store) and has a go-go bar of its own - so I have been told.
