markle
Anybody got some words they dread? Mine is Êӹѡ§Ò¹ (sam-nak-ngarn) I always have to stop a moment to pronounce it or I make real hash of it.
Guest
Well, I already voiced my difficulty with the vowel 'eww', that would have to be what slows my Thai down in conversation. Though the following is a tongue twister in the traditional sense of 'she sells sea shells by the sea shore' type of thing... One of my Thai students taught me this.. ÂÑ¡ÉìãËÂèäÅèÂÑ¡Éìà Åç¡ yuk yai lai yuk lek The big giant chased the small giant. Or there is the tonal tongue twister of.. mai mai mai mai mai mai (high tone) mai (low tone) mai (falling tone) mai (falling tone - different spelling) mai (rising tone) New wood doesn't burn, does it? äÃéãËÃèäÃèäËÃéäËà and.. kow kow ma bork kow wah mee kow kow à ¢Òà ¢éÒÃҺá¢èÒÇÇèÒÃÕ¢éÒÇ¢ÒÇ kow (rising) kow (falling) ma (middle) bork (middle) kow (low) wah (falling) mee (middle) kow (falling) kow (rising) He came in to tell the news that there is some white rice.. Cheers, FF
