Hotmail POP Server Name

I am trying to set up my Hotmail account with the POP Mail Retrieval Setting.

 

 

 

As such I am trying to retrieve from another Hotmail account.

 

 

 

One of the questions it asks me is the POP Server Name.

 

 

 

Has anybody any idea what is the "POP Server Name" for a Hotmail account?

There ain't no pop server for Hotmail. MS is using their own mail system, not Pop. So you can't use the pop retrieval for Hotmail .... Funny? No, it's Microsoft ....

I sometimes use the POP Mail Retrieval Settings on hotmail but there stopping it soon. If you set your account up it will tell you that you have so many days to alter this.

I use Outlook Express .. if you put any hotmail account there, it automatically select HTTP server as the mail server. The URL is automatically populated as http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp.

I also noticed yahoo and email.com both recently moved POP box access from a free thing to a pay for add-on.

I have heard that pop mail access is still available for free in several Yahoo mail domains e.g. mail.yahoo.com.sg , you would have to hunt around. Nonetheless don't count on the service being around forever. There are some little apps that can suck you yahoo mail I will post the URL when if I dig it up again. I still like yahoo though because you can read your mail with a mobile.
