steffi
Are there any folks hanging out in Thailand during the tech wreck? Did you temporarily or permanently give up your career in technology as a result of the problems in that industry?
Guest
What's this "tech wreck" you speak of? I sold Yahoo, Amazon and CMGI on March 14, 2000. That's been my bar story here in LOS for the past 11 months, anyway
rickfarang
No, not a tech wreck, only burnt out.
bibblies
I did the same thing... and invested the proceeds in Enron, WorldCom, etc..
JJsushi
I was pre-tech wreck. Learned COBOL and JCL. Working for a finance or an insurance company creating programs for billing and policies was too mind numbing for me. Thought about switching over to C++, Java and database stuff but couldn't stomach it. Decided to go into the bond business instead. Any work for a rusty COBOL guy in LOS?
