Belem Posted September 28, 2002 Report Share Posted September 28, 2002 The reason I heard some moneychangers in Pattaya won't change US$100 dollar bills of certain years(e.g.1993) is because there were a lot of counterfeit bills of that kind going around. I think the bill year is 1991 cuz there was a lot of counterfeiting going on in Middle East countries for that year. I have seen the notices posted that they will not accept these bills for currency exchange in Bangkok. Solution: Bring only the new style bills with the large head portrait of Ben Franklin.
