sayjann
i'm sure i saw a post about the Keane situation somewhere, but could not find it,so will start a new one. 5 match ban and 150,000 pound fine. hopefully Keane and Utd will not appeal. i said before i do not condone the original tackle and he was punished for it at the time. this punishment was for the supposed 'crime' of cashing in on the event with the book. of course we know 150,000 is nothing to a player like Keane, with his wages and the 5 game ban will still encraoch on his rehabilation and give him time to get fit again. but Keane was honest and 'writing' a book[with a lot of help from a ghost writer]. we will never know how much was Keane's input and how much was Dunphy's writings. still stupid to say these thing's while still a player, but if he had waited until he had retired, would he have been charged. can the authorities charge an ex-player. i know many fellow members will disagree with my views, but the thing you must look at,is that for the crime he was charged with[disrepute],the maximum ban the FA can impose is 3 matches. set in stone, but Keane gets 5. kman
The FA acted correctly as there were 2 charges. So I guess he was banned 2 matches for 1 and 3 for the other. Cheers
