Lots of stalls selling just about everything - food, maps of TH, motorcycle helmets, toys, T-shirts - to name a few - all at cheap prices. Very crowded. I went to Wat Saket with regular GFE on Loy Krathong night (19 November) and they had a large fair going on at that time. We got there at about 2:30 in the morning and I was surprised to see so many families still out in the area. The fair surrounding the Golden Mount consisted of some food booths, lots of booths selling clothes, toys, supplies, etc. for very cheap prices, carnival rides and attractions (I got to dunk several ladies in the water barrels by throwing balls at the targets). There were at least one thousand people lined up the stairs to the temple, where the monks would bless you with chants, a dab of water, and place a white mark on your forehead.
