Guest
Just a check: Plan to bring my notebook during my next trip. Going to Phuket and Bangkok, and Koh Samet. When in BKK I will be with friends so should be ok. Is it advisable in Phuket? If any of you have bring notebook/mobile phones, what are best practise to safeguard them? Cheers!! Cyborg
I bring my laptop when I travel to Thailand and always put it in the hotel safe after use. Same thing with my mobile. By notebook, you mean laptop right ? Sorry about my ignorance..... [ February 13, 2002: Message edited by: Cyborg ]
drlensman
Every time i brought my notebook I had a cablelock, which can be attached to any standard notebook, which allows you to lock it it to a heavy piece of furniture or s.th. similar, so nobody could take it away in your absence or while you sleep. Not a 100% guaranty but worked fine for me several times several months each all over the country, from more expensive hotels down to right dumps for about 80 THB a day. Guest
That lock sounds like a good idea. When I was in Phuket, my thinkpad was too large to fit in the hotel safe where I stayed! I like bringing my notebook around the country. It's nice for offloading flash cards. Also handy for showing people pics of back home.
Guest
Thanks to all of you. Brilliant suggestion. Now .. to look for a place to buy the cable-lock thingy.
