Torneyboy Posted December 20, 2002 Report Share Posted December 20, 2002 In a bar in october saw a guy playing this. a wooden looking box about same size as a shoe box. at one end there was 6 or 8 pieces sticking up higher than the lip of the box. he rolled 2 dice and flicked one or two of these over. Then the girl comes over looks and also flicks some over and laughs and walks off and all starts again. looked like fun but i have no idea what is all about. anyone know? :: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You have numbered wood blocks on a wire, numbered 1 to 9 (or 10, I forget), that you can flip over. You roll the dice and you can flip over the number corresponding to ONE of the dice OR the number corresponding to the SUM of BOTH dice. So if you roll a two and a three, for example, you can flip either the 2, the 3 or the 5. If you're able to flip a number then you may roll again. Your turn progresses until you've flipped all numbers over or you roll a combination that will not allow you to flip further. In the above example, if you've already flipped 2, 3 and 5 your turn is over. Then the next person gets a chance to pick up where you left off and finish the game. If they cannot, the game is considered a draw, the numbers are flipped back and you begin again. If you flip all numbers over during your turn you win the admiration of all onlookers and the heart of the fair maiden (assuming you pay bar!)
